Each column contains a maximum amount of items – we call them teaser-excerpts. How are the teaser-excerpts generated ?
1. Include an ‘Excerpt-Macro’ somewhere in the page or blogpost. The ‘Excerpt-Macro’ is available out-of-the-box.
2. Include an ‘Multiexcerpt-Macro’ somewhere in the page or blogpost. The ‘Multiexcerpt-Macro’ can be bought from Artemis via the Atlassian Marketplace.
3. Let the Layout generate the excerpts automatically for you : In the configuration dialog of each layout-macro are two checkboxes (4),(5) . If you check ‘Include pages without Excerptmacro’, the layout-macro generates an excerpt for each page without excerpt-macro (See Introduction). If you check ‘Include blogposts without Excerptmacro’, the layout-macro generates an excerpt for each blogpost without excerpt-macro. If you think it is a good idea to generate an excerpt for the homepage of the spaces, check ‘Include Homepage without excerptmacro’.
A generated excerpt will contain: the FIRST image found in the page or blogpost (if the page or blogpost contains images) and a maximum length of text (can be defined with parameter ‘Maximum Textlength’).
